I regeared from 3.07 to 3.73 on my 31s and I'm very happy. Found a used D30/D44 front/rear set from a 2004, with half the miles of my 98. If the plan is to stay with 31 or 32 in tires, 3.73 is fine....

FWIW, I had a safari top for a while and went back to windowless soft top. I like the easy convertibility from topless to shade. Safari top (or bikini) is fixed in place and can't be removed without...

Well, I bought my TJ to go topless. Of course, it's not my DD, nor does it freeze in central Texas. Not an easy choice, but I'd go with soft top. IMHO it's what makes a jeep a jeep.

I have the 2.5in RC lift. Be warned- it's VERY stiff. Picture your seatbelt locking up going over a speed bump. I'll probably change to different shocks soon.

I LOVE Amazon too. Their prices used to be substantially better than local prices.
But, local stores have caught on and prices are now pretty similar for many items. Of course, there are always...

Was being tongue-in-cheek, not snarky. Sorry.
Just frustrated and unsure what to do. Would hate to spend the bucks and end up with the same (or similar) ride feel.

I have read through this entire thread and I I did read Jerry's review of the 5000x shocks. Guess I need to look into pricing them, vs the Bilsteins. I hear the Bilsteins are quite a bit pricier....

Definitely worth doing. I had the same setup, with 33s and 3.10. 5th gear was useless.
I swapped for a D30/44, geared 3.73, found on CL.
Provides a nice balance of power.
The pair cost $1300 and...
