One step closer!

Wahoo! I got the charging system re-wired and the old bird fired up after some persuasion.

When idling (1100 rpm seems high?) the motor will 'jump'. I can feel a knock and the rpm jumps up for a...

Keep us updated, I'm having a problem with my '89. Fusible link went and I haven't gotten the time yet to look at it closer. Could your starter have drawn at all and burnt your link?

Forgot to add another question, I don't see it on the wiring diagram that I have, but the fusible link is two wires going to one ring terminal vs. just one wire. Where is the other wire coming from?

Fusible Link

Jeep shut off while coasting into the driveway the other day. No action when I turned the key. I crossed the starter and it cranked so I pulled the battery and mount to get a good look at the starter...

Weber High Idle

Anybody know why my rig idles around 1700? It's an '89 4.2 with a newly installed weber 32/36. I installed a Holley FPR and I'm not sure what it's doing for me, the pressure gauge pulses and never...

I did a little bit of research. The 8.8 is available with limited slip? Am I correct in saying that a limited slip set-up is less effective than the locker I would get with the super 35? Basically,...

Gearing?

I have an '89 YJ with a carb'd 6-cylinder. If I go to 31-inch tires what do I need to do for gearing? My set-up would be a 2.5" lift with 31's. Or, I may go to 33's with a 4.5" lift. Either way I...

I wont be doing any hard core off-roading for a while with this jeep I'm going to purchase. I'm looking at either BDS or rough country. I gather BDS' warranty is better, but for 300 dollars...

Research Time: 31x10.5 on stock rims?
