Winches mount with four so that won't work. Don't drill it without consulting the manufacturer. Winches pull hard and that bumper may not take it. Failure in use would be very, very, bad.

I did a similar project with masonite and metal studs. It's strong enough to support some luggage but weak enough to crumple in a rear end collision. Solid wood could push that back seat in a wreck.
