If I remember correctly they had a broken iginition wire from the column to under the hood. They ran a new wire and rewired all the stuff connected to that under the hood.

Carbed engines ussually require less than 10lbs. In the case of the Edelbrock that I use, it states not to go over 6.5 lbs.
