No low 4wd

I have a 1987 YJ with the NP207 transfer case. 2wd and high 4wd work fine but cant get it into low 4wd. No grinding gears or anything, just sounds like metal rubbing on metal. Any ideas? I'm not much...

I have a 1987 YJ with the 4.2 engine, Chrysler TF A999 transmission, and an NP207 transfer case. What transmission can I swap in the TF A999's place? I would like to keep the 207 transfer case....

Spring and shackle bolts will be the hardest, following those are the U-bolts. Plenty of PB Blaster, and as mentioned by WGHyrum, find the biggest breaker bar possible.

YJ shackles are 4" from hole to hole. If you go with a shackle lift, you will get 1" of lift for every 2" of shackle. In other words, you have 4" on it now. If you go to 6" you will raise it an inch....

You're right, and I wasn't telling him to rip it apart and rebuild it. I was stating that I did change my pump first and that wasn't it. I had other issues. The pump IS the best place to start...
