I've had mine on for over a year and no problems...

I've had mine on for over a year and no problems yet... I don't even run my front license plate normally. If I am driving long distances, then I might put the license plate on.

I think the ranger station sells them. $30 for the year. You need it for a lot areas, so if you plan on going a lot, get the year pass. Otherwise it's $5/day.
