Have you replaced transfer case, transmission, and differential oils?

I would look at things like ujoints, ball joints, and unit bearing for signs of wear and replace them if they need it.

I did my Dana 44 swap for around $450 if I remember correctly. I would get the jeep if you are happy with it and upgrade the rear axle if you want to later.

I think it looks pretty good. A little pricy for stock but low miles. I got my 2002 in 2011 with 27,000 miles. I would just make sure there is no rust anywhere on the frame and check what rear axle...

For snow a good quality limited slip would be great but wouldn't be too helpful on the rocks. If you plan to also use the jeep on the trails I would go with a selectable locker like OX, ARB, or Eaton.
