If is just the surface were the seal contacts, maybe it could be polished smooth and the low spots filled in with JB weld. I did a similar repair on my motorcycle...

Mine would not tumble by the lever due to one cable stretched. I clipped the ball end and got a cable end repair kit from a bicycle shop. Total cost $4.

Front Driveshaft Problem

Back in November, I dented my front driveshaft while wheeling when I came down on the rock ledge. I took it off to get home, as the Jeep vibrated badly.
