IMO, yes. I prefer the full fenders. Personally I think most flat fenders are too thin however I do like ACE's wide flat fenders. Those seem a bit thicker and they are tubular so they are very strong

Pretty sure chains will fit fine on the rear but it's the front you have to worry about. If they are too large, like Vbars would be then they can hit the brake lines which could be dangerous.

How far are you going to drive on the highway to get to these places? If it's not far, aerodynamics don't matter too much. Plus if you're pulling it the jeep will break most, but not all of the wind....
