It always stayed just over 150. I figured they put a 160 or 165 in it. I did boil it first. Always do. I've gone through 3 thermostats before finding a good one inn the past.

I had my 2.5 rebuilt four months ago. Still u see warranty. That being said it has been running just fine. Took it up to Big Bear this past weekend and realized my heater was blowing cold air....

Yep it was the head gasket. Cost me around $400 to do it myself. Including a few new tools which really doesn't count in my book. Sure beats the $1300 the Mechanic was asking. Took about 3 nights...

Ugh! Seriously dreading that. Never had to replace a head gasket before. Will say that the oil is clean though, so at least it's not leaking into the oil.

I drilled the 1/8" hole in the thermostat. Also burped the system on my inclined driveway. Still overheating. Taking a little longer to do it though. Any other ideas?

My 94 wrangler 2.5 overheated the other day. The temp sending unit broke somehow as well. I replaced the temp sending unit, temp sensor, and thermostat. All of a sudden it would instantly overheat....

I bought it but can't get to it tonight. Anyone have experience with replacing the water pump on a 94 YJ 2.5? If so any tips? I did it on my old 89 4.2 wasn't too bad.
