They no longer use the gm 1 ton ends due to fitment and strength issues. They now use their own tie rod ends. They are even beefier being metal on metal. The taper fits much nicer as well

Rotating the axle does help but there's no way you can run less bump with 17" shocks with raising your lower mounts 1.5". You may even have to increase you bump to 3"
