Just make sure it's clean. I just poured Penetrol on my rag and the wiped it on. It dries after a few minutes

You just wipe the Penetrol on the top and leave it, it will dry. You should try not to get it on anything else though. It can even be tough to get off of the windows

I had the crappy n2.0 shocks from rough country before I went to the rancho 9000xl. I'm very happy with the switch. They actually feel like a shock rather than a solid steel bar like the n2.0's.

Are you sure it was oil? I would think maybe power steering fluid. I would check to make sure it is topped off and that there aren't any lines leaking
