I just googled it. Looks like the 231D comes from a Dodge. The letter at the end indicates what vehicle it came from. So D-Dodge, C-Chevy, J-Jeep. It looks like you can do some modifying to get it to...

Some 80s Ford F250s had semi float Sterling rear axles. And some Chevy 2500s had Semi float 14 bolts with the smaller ring gear, and some maybe had 12 bolts. But the majority are full float rear...

Since 1 ton axles are commonly used in 3/4 ton trucks, it pretty much comes down to if it's 8 lug, it's 1 ton or 3/4 ton. If it's 5 or 6 lug, its a 1/2 ton.

Common 3/4 ton front axles are 8 lug...

I just did this swap last weekend. I used a D44 and D60 from a 78 F250. In the rear, offset perches can make up for the difference in pinion length. In the front, I had to shorten my driveshaft 2"....

Rip them out and undercoat or bedline it. Those plastic pieces hold crap and mud in there, causing rust.

Those federal couragia mt tires wouldn't be 85% tread if they had 26k on them. For $7000, I'd assume he's saying the jeep has 26k on it.

I'd say go for it then. Throw on some nice wheels and tires and drive that sucker. Like I said, you'll love it.

As to that jeep you linked, if its as nice as it looks, it's worth that all day...

The 8.25 would be alright. But since you're going to have to regear it to match the front 4.88s anyway, I'd find an 8.8 from a 96-01 explorer. They're stronger and have disc brakes.

I understand the concern since I'm a junior in college and have had my jeep since sophomore year of high school. Whether you should get one or not depends on the amount of self control you have when...

Well, you know that jeep has been babied. Because that thing has never been off-road with those giant chrome rims, 40s, and stock axles.

It could just be that the RC springs don't flex well, that is very common. And when you installed the lift, did you torque the spring and shackle bolts down when the jeep was up in the air? Try...

I'm guessing you have the Rubicon Express 4.5" with 1" shackles. If you want it to be done right, you should have an SYE and new drive shaft. Otherwise, you'll most likely get vibrations.

Are your springs under or over your axles? I've seen Rubicon Express SOA conversion kits advertised as a 5.5" lift kit before.

I run 35x12.50 MTZs and absolutely love them. They wear great, and are really quiet, especially for an MT. They hum about like my old Cooper AT3s. If you get into the mud or rocks, I'd pick the MTZs...

It won't be as easy as slapping it in there. You'll need to set up the gears. Or more likely have someone do it.

I know you don't want to hear it, but the best bet is an 8.8. If you're already SOA, that means you're most likely running tires big enough to destroy a D35. And an 8.8 is cheap. Lots cheaper than...

Experience with Spartan Lockers?

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of my F250 axle swap, and it's time to lock the front D44. My first instinct was an Aussie locker, because I have one in my D30 now and like it. But how does the Spartan...

Well, the axles came out of a 70's F150 or 78-79 bronco, no doubt about that. F250s were 69" wide with the 44/60 or 60/60 combos. The real question (which could be a disaster), is what kind of radius...

I ran 33x10.50s with 2.5" of lift for a little while, and it rubbed quite a bit. I threw on tube fenders, it eliminated the rubbing, and it was the perfect DD/wheeling rig, IMO. I loved that setup.
