I put the panels on... latch the front, lock the front sides, lock the front middle, then go to the rear, lock rear the sides, lock the rear middle, and finally put the screws in.

X1000, happy with the Harken. Used it all spring/summer last year. My roof is slanted and it gave me the flexibility to lift it nice and level, and it's darn close to the ceiling at the low end.

I think part of the problem is the contacts/electricity/CANBUS. In a vehicle without a computer controlling the horn, you can get a little bit of juice to jump a gap to set the horn off for a little...

The mopar "full" steps shield the area pretty well; the mopar mud flaps/splash guards work fantastically on the front flares, are cheap, and work with the rock rails. No idea about the tube steps.

You'll never beat the quality of the mopar ones (lowers + uppers). I'd advise against getting them at the dealer, though, you will be charged way too much.

I am saving my pennies for a pair....

They don't come off easily, they're tack welded on in some weird spots. There's a snorkel install PDF that shows how to remove them, somewhere. I don't think it's the AEV one.
