I used WD 40, leave it to saturate for half an hour then wipe it off. Thicker spots require multiple passes. Did no harm. I cleaned the windows afterwards and used bestop window polish stuff.

I've never ran a set of duratracs but I can vouch for the bfgs being excellent in the snow and rain. Also the bfgs have a much stronger sidewall if your into rocks and mountain terrain.

Ok, next question is, have you cleaned/changed the IAC? I'm also leaning towards a fuel rail problem as stated above. If the computer can't slow the fuel flow down then it'll be rich.

O2 sensors need to be replaced with OEM ones ideally. If your check engine light is on then it will run rich by default just FYI. Replace the 02 sensors and reset the computer and see what happens.

Starting in 2000 the ignition is coil pack instead of distributor. Distributor type is cheaper to replace... If the instrument cluster glitches and says NO BUS on the odometer its just a connection...
