I love the square headlights. I like being different. I also love the leaf springs. They seem classic and rugged to me. And the fact that YJs are way cheaper to lift is a huge bonus. But the main...

I'd just regear the D30. It doesn't really need upgraded, it'll handle 35s pretty well.

If it were me, I wouldn't regear the Dana 35 or put any money into it. I know you said moderate off-roading, but sometimes it doesn't take much to snap a 35 shaft. A little tire spin and suddenly...

Forget the 30 spline crap for the D35, and spend even less money on the Ford 8.8. You won't regret it. Any money spent on the Dana 35 is a waste.

Width between J20 front springs?

I found a set of axles out of a 1980 J20. Dana 44 front, Dana 60 rear, 8 lug. Does anyone know the width between the front spring pads on one of these? I'm curious to see if they are close to bolt in...

4.88s and 31s will be terrible on the street. 4.10s are already pretty low, but I loved that combination when I had them. If you really want to go any lower, I'd do 4.56

Put the locker up front unless you're getting rid of the D35. Don't waste any money on the 35. Even then, I think a front locker is the best idea. It seems to help pull up you up and over obstacles...

I run procomp series 52 rims with 2.5" backspacing with 35x12.50s with barely any rubbing on the springs. 15x8 rims. They're better if you want to air down off road, they don't break the bead as...

Send it to the scrap pile. Track bars aren't needed with leaf springs. They already do a great job holding the axle in place.
