Not all XJ models are compatible. Needs to be 1990 or later. Same for YJ and MJ. '93-'98 ZJ should work as well.

No. Leaks at the tank seams are a typical failure mode. A bad radiator cap could contribute, so be sure to renew yours along with the radaitor.
