Well i just replaced the heater core on saterday, but the old didnt seemed to be leaking at all. When I flushed it with a house the coolent came out a nasty brown with some chunky stuff in it.

You could try wet sanding and buffing to clean up...

You could try wet sanding and buffing to clean up the nasty clear coat edge. or if you feel really brave you try to scrape down the edge with a sharp razor blade. and then wet sand the blade scrathes...

Heat gun with putty knife, Some times you can peel it right off its not stuck on well. But ifyou are grinding I would suggest using a fiber wheel to grind with it cuts really fast.

From the things I have seen in a auto body shop you might try a heat gun and slowly working in circles from the inside to the outside. The body shop fixies plastic bumpers that way. But I dont know...

I did a tune up on my 98' tj awhile back, I also plugged the wires in the distributer cap wrong. Maybe it jumped time? Mine ran like crap for a little bit and then died.

It does run at temp of 210 when it is warmed up.
