YJ A/C R12-R134 conversion

I've got a '94 YJ that came with factory air conditioning using R12 (built in late 93 so probably among the last with R12).

Years ago I did a quick-and-dirty conversion with a cheap kit consisting...

Interesting. I like the look of the two thinner bars over one big fat bar, and the bolt-around-the-frame sounds good. But I wish the "hoop" stuck just straight out as a step, rather than hanging...

I'm using BDS shackles... I just measured them at about 5 7/8", while the stock shackles are about 4". I might see if I...

Thanks!

If so, then you're quite an old fart. This place was built in the first half of the 1800's.

Side step recommendations for '94 YJ?

Now that my 2" BDS lift has raised my '94 YJ by about 4-5 inches, my vertically-challenged wife is insisting I get side steps.

I'm thinking something like nerf bars or rock sliders with a step...

Got the alignment checked, and it was fine. The tech also got my steering wheel straightened out, which has been crooked for years, and got worse with the lift.

He said the torque steer is "not...

Directions were not clear for the shackles on the front, so they may very well be backwards. I'm not convinced that it could be part of the torque steer problem, though.

I may give those...

Yeah, I noticed that, in the rear in particular. I may do that once I get the torque steer issue straightened out.

I just disconnected the front sway bar (both now disconnected). No obvious change in the torque steer. Bah.

On the theory that one or both axles wasn't straight, I did some measurements. I measured the distance between the tires on each side (back of the front tire to front of the rear tire) and found one...

I've posted a video I took of the front axle and suspension. I took the video so that I (and the Internet - you know who you are) could check out what's going on under there while in use. It's the...

I agree with that, assuming things like all the springs being the same correct length and such. I hasn't had (or noticeably needed) an alignment in many years, so that's not a bad thing to get...
