I don't know about a good balance between all terrain and mud, they are a pretty aggressive tire. They work really well in deep snow but like running slicks on ice. This is a pic right after install...

Short answer is oil will leak from anywhere there is oil and a gasket. At some point or another, just another maintenence item on a jeep. Some will fix it, some will let it go like a rusty frame.
