So if I'm looking for two inches of lift over the factory springs, I should Just go with a kit - correct? If I'm only netting .75" of lift from the JK springs, I don't even think it's worth the time...

That actually looks like a rear track bar. That would definitely not fit on the front of your TJ. The front track bar has a ball joint on the driver's side end and a bolt bushing on the other end.
