I would suggest a Mopar sensor if the aftermarket CPS is throwing codes. That has fixed the issue for most.

With the rear end jacked up, turn one wheel and see if the other wheel turns the same way. If so, you have a LS. If it turns the opposite direction, you have an open diff.

The factory parts list for my '92 shows ears on the distributor and a clamp as well. I know it has a separate clamp, not sure if it actually has the ears on the distributor or not.

Ok, I looked online and saw some with the ears molded in. I'd still say it was probably over torqued and cracked the cast dist. housing. They are not that strong.
