Ah good point Jerry. I always heard the 8.8 was a bit stronger but that may be wrong. And the 8.8s around here go for like 200-250. A dime a dozen.

That is one way to go, but the preferred upgrade is a ford 8.8. There are a lot of them you can get out of explorers and they are beefier and stronger than the dana 44. It can be cheaper than a dana...

Lunchbox the front, it will add stupid amounts of traction. You'll gain the most bang for your buck this way. Put a selectable in the rear down the road if that doesn't cut it.

No pics today. But removed t-case skid, cleaned the frame of any rust I saw, and painted over it with a coat of rustoleum. I tend to just rattle can the whole thing about once a year. It keeps rust...

My last TJ would chew up the ball joints in the sway bar links then try and strip the nut. The only last about 40-50k in my experience. Get some aftermarket sway bar links that don't use ball joints...
