I have no problems with the base unit with Alpines in my 2013. Granted, it could be better and I made the mistake of not getting the u-connect package but overall I am happy with it.

I hear/feel the rear end load up when I go from park to reverse and the Jeep actually rises a little but there is no clunking sound of any kind when I release my foot off the brake and start backing.

Just drive it around and it should reset. If it doesn't, you can try adding another few pounds to the tire to get the sensor to reset and then lower it back down to the normal pressure.
