Just try a couple of washers at at time and see what it takes. May not take a lot. Not sure about the tail end wandering other than making sure the rear sway bar was reconnected. But if you dbl checked everything it may just be the issues with toe in that is creating all the probs like scout said. Damn those BB! Nothing but trouble IMO. Wish I'd skipped that step and saved a few bucks.
