Question JL headlight upgrades

Hey all, I just bought my first Wrangler. (love it so far)
I bought mine off the lot, so it didn't have the full list of features I was looking for... I fell in love with it though, so I bought it anyway.

One of the first things I am hoping to upgrade are the head lamps.
I understand the aftermarket is still catching up on JL options; am I best waiting it out? Would it be super pricey to have the dealer install the OEM LED package? Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Rather than pay insane prices for Mopar add-ons, you should consider looking at the aftermarket.

I have these:

CrystaLux XHP Series LED Headlight Bulbs (H13) for Jeep Wrangler (2007+) - 4x4TruckLEDs.com

I've actually been using them on a 2013 F-150 for about 6 months now but the JL uses H13 bulbs so I'm going to move them over to my Jeep tonight.

The light output is AMAZING and they are specifically designed to work in halogen housings. There is a sharp cutoff to the beam, and in the last 6 months nobody has flashed me on the highway at all.

Awesome, thanks for the info WXman!
This is definitely a nice upgrade over the OEM lamps.

What if I wanted to mimic the Mopar LED package?
Still cheaper to get all the housing & bulbs from the aftermarket, or should I bite the bullet and have my dealer order it from Jeep?

Sorry for the noob questions; my Wrangler is the first vehicle I've bought with the intent of upgrading / customizing. (one of the reasons I bought a Wrangler!)

Buy the OEM lights and install them your self. It's easy and will save you $$ for more stuff.

If you want HALO with LED then OEM is the only option right now.
HIDProjectors has some too.
I am in the same boat as you, but I'm just waiting for aftermarket to catch up so I have some good options to choose from.

Yeah, I am okay waiting for now.
But looking at the LED package on Jeep's site really makes me wish I had just gone for the package from the beginning... the DRL ring is pretty sharp I think.

I think the extra wiring Wxman showed us is for the halo light. The lights have the halo, but only the same three wires to the bulb in the center.

I have JW Speakers from my last Jeep, and thought I could just swap them over. NOPE! I am interested in creating an adapter plate that mounts to the factory install points for the factory halogen housing. I've googled, I've binged, I've even yahoooooed... Yet, nothing out there fits the bill. Anyone have any Ideas? Thanks.

Then the adjustment is off. While it's a JKU, I have Mopar OEM stock LEDs in the Chief and never get flashed.

Yup on my list to check this coming weekend. Luckily I don’t drive at night very often.

Adjustment isn't a problem in my case, I live in the sticks and you have to make a drive to get to work anywhere but at the school. Most of the folks out here buy those little speed bumps trying to save gas but it also puts them practically sitting on the pavement.....sorry, not my fault.

I have never considered mpg when buying a vehicle, at the current prices of new vehicles i'm inclined to buy what I want, as long as the two kids fit.

In my experience, Headlight Revolution has the best options for upgrades if you want to keep your halogen housings. Check out their website.
