This is Woody at 14 almost 15. He retired two years ago from retrieving ducks and geese at which he excelled. He love to ride in the Jeep with the top down.

It’s Hot But I’m Jeeping

It was way over 100 degrees in Cave Creek, AZ but Dudley was insistent on a Jeep ride to Starbucks for a Pupachino. Boy has his mom spoiled my Springer!

Chewbacca loves his new ride! Any suggestions on making it more comfortable for him back there? I took out the back seat, added a dog bed, seatbelt harness and some cushions behind the chairs. I love to find some kind of bumpers for the sides.

You're welcome to check my build - even if it's a JKU and not a JK. The idea remains the same, and is easy enough to build, if I made it

And to summarize: plywood on the sides and front, and on the floor, making it an easily padded "crate". You'll also get additional storage between the crate walls and the JK's inner body. Clamps for walking stick, Carbiner for hooking the leash(es), clamps for water bottles, a clamp or a PVC tube for the odd umbrella... Let loose your imagination !

Any of you dog lovers concerned with going topless with your dog in the back? I know it can be pretty loud at highway speed.

Nope, My lab likes to stand with his Front feet on the console and his head above the windshield as I'm driving down the road.

Dirty Dog rear cargo net, back and sides, and a 36 inch or so tether for her harness that clips to the baby seat anchors behind the rear seat.

That's one of the reasons I took out the passenger seat so Rocko can curl up in the footwell and be protected from the wind. Removed the back seat the day I bought the Jeep, but he likes riding shotgun. Put some pool noodles on the top bar of the trail doors so he can rest his chin. The lengths we go to for our pets, haha.

Anyone have suggestions/mods for pet steps or ramps that fold? My 80 pound Staffordshire can jump into the front seat of my 2 door JK, but it takes him forever to get the courage to do it and sometimes he just refuses. I'm sure he'd have no problem jumping into the tailgate, but then he's stuck behind the backseat and can't ride shotgun. I'm not ready to remove the backseat just yet.
