03 Gr Cherokee steering hard

Never posted before but need advice! I am looking to get something for my 2003 Gr Cherokee. Had engine issues that couldn't be diagnosed (without major cost) so had rocker arms replaced and gaskets cleaned twice as a short term fix. Now steering wheel got really stiff and there was brownish fluid leaking. I just want to get it where it can be driven/steered to possibly trade in as-is and see if I could get anything. Good mileage/exterior/interior so would hate to scrap but getting desperate. Thanks for any suggestions

Check power steering fluid.. and make sure connections in and out are tight... also might want to check out these sites.. as they are more about grands than our site is...

I agree. it sounds like the power steering pump.

Because this is the newbie check-in area and your are on a forum for Jeep Wranglers, you may not get the answers you are looking for. You are very welcome here so feel free to cruze the forum pages.
