1st Wrangler

Saving up money for a 1997 to 2001 wrangler and I've never owned one. Any tips for a first time wrangler buyer?? Like what to watch out for or whatever. I'm wanting a 4.0L 5speed, if that helps. Thanks!

.02 is my two cents worth, and the 2000 is the first year they got rid if the distributor and spark plug wires and went to the coil pack

welcome.. And for as far as tips go... the search option on the forum is the best thing to use before asking questions about problems with your jeep because people are not likely to answer a question that has been asked 100 times.. But Great people that love to help for sure!! ! ! ! !

If you're set on a TJ, I'd post a thread in the TJ section. You'll get a lot more responses.
I have an 02 and love it

I just bought a 2000 Wrangler this past month and I absolutely love it. The motor is smooth and the shocks are great. My brother in law convinced me that if I was going to buy a jeep buy a 1998 on up.

yes the lj is from 04-06. i love mine but its pricey. me personally i dont like distributers so i made sure i have one with coil packs. but it all depends what you want to do with it. look at the rocker panels. its where the doors are look inside at that metal. thats big for rust also floor panels. A good tj aint cheap. if it is i would be scared to see whats wrong with it. I love the stick shift better than a auto. i blew my auto 3 times before i said i want a manual jeep and got an lj.
