2001 Wrangler Half Doors

Hey guys I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler with half doors and I've been trying to figure out how to take the entire door off. I've already checked the owners manual but that didn't help. Any ideas?

im guessing that the 01 is the same as my 99. you just unscrew the nut on the buttom of the hinges and unhook the strap on the inside of the door and it will just lift off. it is alot easier to lift the door if you take the upper part off first.

i can post pictures tomorrow if you need

If they have never been removed it may not be a simple task. Its just as described above but alot of soaking it with PB blaster and yelling of choice four letter words.

On a side note you may have better luck posting something like this in the TJ section

Welcome to WF!

There are a few suggestions on getting those off if they havent ever been off before. First try what was said earlier and soak if with pb blaster and work the door open then close while pulling it up at the same time.

Also you could try to use a jack with a piece of wood between your door and the jack so as not to damage anything. Best of luck to you, hope you enjoy your wrangler as much as we do!

Alright I tried unscrewing it with a socket wrench and other wrenches but the bolt doesn't come down far enough for any wrench to grip onto it.

You should be able to slide a socket wrench on the nut to remove it. If there isnt a nut that means it has been removed. If there isnt a nut and the bolt doest come through the bottom it means the previous owner tried removing them and snapped the bolt a bit. (I have a few like that. But pic would be nice.
