Advise on a used Wrangler

Hello all
I’m looking for some advice on which years to focus my research on for a used wrangler. I am going to use it as a second car and mostly drive it up north and in the winter randomly. My girlfriend is frowning on riding in it because they are not the greatest on the highway (when taking it up north), so was looking Sahara vs sport.
Also my friend said to get a 2013 or later due to a better engine that was out in. Looking for under 20K, and from what I have been reading either a 2007 or 13-16 (excluding 2014)

Thanks for any suggestions.

2012-2014 (3.6L engine) is going to be your best bet on your budget.. They are great on the highway (hard top helps with noise). I won't say, If your girlfriend doesn't like it get a new girlfriend (that's just not nice), but Jeep girls like Jeep guys and the Jeep.

Welcome to the forum. When you do get the Jeep, don't forget to wave.

Ok cool 2012 or new. Is there much difference is ride between the sport and the Sahara.

There is a 2013 Sahara with 70,000 miles hardtop for 20k, not sure if it is worth paying for the Sahara when you can get a sport for a lot cheaper.

If you're going to change the suspension no, if not the Sahara will probably ride a little softer. If it were me, and I had to choose, I would take the Sport if it was 3k+ cheaper and put on a soft suspension kit with a little lift and whalla!!! You're wheelin..

Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

Jeeps are great everywhere.
I drive my JK Sport from interstates to gravel country roads and it performs very well.
I would say it is a very good balance between on road and off-road use.
