And so a new journey begins...

GREETINGS everyone! Been lurking around a bit and trying to learn as much as i can absorb. Great site!
Well the wife and I both have wanted a Jeep for quite some time and FINALLY we took the plunge and made a purchase. We "think" we found a great deal.

And let me say this first so I do not get flamed too bad ( I know ya'll here are a good crew, just sayin'!)...
I am all about building your vehicle yourself, it provides great satisfaction (but empty pockets)...I respect this approach having built a couple street legal drag cars - both Eagle Talons w/4G63.

So anyhow, this Jeep has already been built up a bit by the PO. Saves us a bit of money down the road...not sure if the set-up he had done was correctly performed so I will post up the info here if you guys/gals could pick it apart for me! Be nice. lol

Tomorrow is the day! Very excited and yep, we will join a local club. We never get out much, but we are definitely outdoors type folks, so this will be a blessing for us as well.

Leo & Lisa

BTW, it is a 1989 Islander. Yellow!! Yikes (sorry the older man in me cringes a bit)...original paint, wife loves it, go figure...I suppose it will look good UNDER some body armor.

Welcome to the Forum! The old man in you may cringe at the yellow, but the little boy in you just got a full size Tonka truck! Have fun with it.
