Another n00b from CO thinking about his first Jeep

Hey There,

Long time lurker, first time signer-up-er.

I come from a long line of car drivers being from the NYC area. My girlfriend (3 years now!) comes from a LOOONG line of jeep owners.

We moved to Colorado a year ago and I discovered I really like offroading which makes sense when you think of my other interests (Hiking, Biking, Snowboarding, and Rock Climbing.)

Then my little 2007 Rabbit started acting up. Apparently its not a snow bunny and I started looking around for something new to play with.

At first the 4runner caught my eye and over on the Toyota boards they talk about 4runners like they can do anything and be anything and basically save the world. I drank that Kool-Aid for a while and thought I wanted one, but then I drove one and felt like I was in a great quality giant grocery getter.

It's just me and the GF in Colorado with not to many friends. I didn't need something big.

So of course the GF's family is telling me to look at the new GC. It's really nice, but too nice for me to scratch up so I got into looking and Wrangler's and boy do I love the Unlimited. And hell the 2-door as well, but I think its a bit squirrely on the road.

So here I am. Just another guy that doesn't know what to do..

Go used JK
Go 2011 JK with the sexy inside
Wait for the fabled pentastar engine to rain down from the heavens and bless the Wrangler with 876ft/lbs of torque at 565HP and 30MPG highway on E85.

So here I am looking for answers and hoping to find some fellow Colaradians to go Jeeping with when the time comes.

License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote.
