Another new Wrangler owner...

This is my first Jeep ever. And I have to say I'm having a blast. Owned it for 2 weeks and, as I told my wife, I can't wipe the grin off my face. I've been making the same commute for 17+ years, and now I actually look forward to it. Doesn't bother me anymore. Open up the windows, drop the roof and crank up the stereo. She says my hair is disheveled, but she'll get used to it.

I have to admit, it took me about a week to realize that Wrangler drivers wave at each other. Another cool aspect... Now I find myself scouting ahead making sure I don't miss somebody. Part of making that commute more fun.

My reason for joining this forum? I'm sure that I'm going to have questions down the road.. What works? What doesn't? That kind of thing.

So... Let me start with my first question. I have to get a hitch mounted cargo carrier. I just found out that I'm expected to bring my turkey fryer and gear to my in-laws for Thanksgiving. There is no way that I am loading that inside the Jeep. Too greasy. I could haul it all on my flat trailer, but that is a lot of overkill. About 80 square feet I don't need. Any recommendations? I don't need the top of the line, but I don't want a big-box special. Ideally, I'd like to be able to open the rear door, with a P255/70/R18 (32") tire able to clear an empty carrier.

Thanks for allowing me to join your forum.

Brian
