Arkansas Rubi

Picked up a Rubi a few years ago. Could have sworn I made a login here but I guess not. Everyone loves pictures, so I'll let pictures tell most of the story.

The jeep had been flopped on the highway when I bought it. Tub was tweaked, front axle was a empty D30 housing. Suspension was "loose" to say the best.

I found a 4.10 D30 to get me back in 4wd.
Also used some creative winching to get the tub straight enough to fit soft doors and top.

Came across Red sheet metal with rhino lined tub and decided it was time to upgrade.

Got new sheetmetal, got to keep it straight. Bring on the armor.

Sliders, corners and bumpers made by a local guy. Corners are powder coated red to match the jeep. Most people don't realize its on there. Bumpers/sliders rattle canned for touch up.

First trip out and I rolled it. So much for looking pretty. Rear corners did great. Too bad I didn't have front tube fenders.

I did this backwards, but a roll cage came after the roll.

Since then the suspension has been replaced. Triangulated 4 link rear, 3 link front.

Went through a few stock lockers. Tried a grizzly in the rear for a bit. Loved it off road, didn't love it on road. Currently have the grizzly in the front and a Zip locker in the rear.

Somewhere in there I added a motor lift, 1" body lift and raised the belly 2". Also a few action shots.

Finally tore up a tire/wheel. Might have been some beverages and skinny pedal involved.

Bring on the slabs and MTR's. Sub 10 psi does wonders.

Bring on the Rubi/D30 comments. I'm used to them. It was a $150 way to get me on the trails.

Somewhere in the above timeline I bought a bent D44 from a friend. Its straightened, trussed, grizzly locker and Chromoly shafts.
