Welcome to the Forum

I have all three and never use them. If I only had a hard top they would come in handy, but with a soft top all you need is a spiderweb shade and a trail cover.

I run a mesh safari top in sunny CA. While I was in soggy WA, I ran a Bestop solid safari top as it gave protection to even my rear passenger (the labrador) in the mist and rainy condions when I had left the soft top at home.

New to the forum and glad to be here. I recently acquired a YJ and couldn't wait to take the softop off. After our first outing we quickly discovered that hats alone in S. Nevada don't cut it. I went looking for a bikini but our daughter in law loves to ride in the jump seat. So I ordered a safari top from 4WD.com. I don't have it yet but after our first outing with it on I hope to post a favorable response.

Welcome aboard! Love Kauai! Visited Poipu and Waimea Canyon. Hope to go back soon and kayak the Na'pili coast(that is if the government still allows it). It's my second favorite island. You probably won't have much use for that hard top(unless you live on the rainy side), but I run the duster/windjammer combo with a Spiderweb shade all summer. Am forced to put the hardtop on come October due to the fact it's my DD and gets a bit chilly in Norcal that time of year.

my experience

I have all 3 pieces that you are discussing. If you don't need or use your back seat it is the way to go --IMO--however I would happily trade my bikini for a safari as that would keep 95% of the rain out here in northern IN. There is a small gap at the roll bar where the bikini and jammer meet.

I do have a wrap around jammer--and it is much better than the standard jammer.

In the winter time I use a half top---had a full factory top---but like the looks of the halftop or the bikini/ jammer/ duster better. Also like that what is under the duster is out of sight out of mind.

I have been running this combo for about 5 summers (got the wrap around spring of 2010)--and the halftop I have had for almost a year.

Here is a pic with my best friend ----LADY

I love Kauai too and now with my Jeep can explore her much more... spend a lot of time in Poipu for the bodysufing and horseback... Waimea and Kalalau have some of the most breathtaking spots I have seen anywhere, with many 4 wheel roads to explore...
Thanks for the info... Which island is your favorite?

Partial to Maui. Only been to Kauai once, and Maui many times, so it's kinda unfair to say for sure. Need to explore Kauai more to make that assessment. Couldn't think of a better mode of transportation than a jeep to explore it in!
