Bought out my jk lease

Just bought out our 08 JKL lease. Have had a 97TJ before it and a 91 XJ before that. I like the new Jeep and have the lifetime powertrain warranty. Now the paranoia starts with the ownership. Question. Should I start taking it to the dealer for maint or just worry about oil changes and the 5 year mandatory inspection? Love the iPhone app by the way...

Congrats I just joined 5mins ago... I love my Jeep/Tank it's been heavily modified from ground up it's Bullet Proof literally even the tires... I just blew the Engine and was told by the service manager it was due to the mods. And probably Jeep won't warranty the replacement engine... Thankfully I was able to get all my service Copies from three different authorized service centers... The Engine only had 19000 miles on it it was determined that it was a faulty Cathlic Trick Convertor or something like that... Sweet if it's yours pay the little extra get the pros to clammed around the beast while you grab a burger and a beer all my service centers wash vacuum and they do it for what the oil would cost me LOL WTF

Welcome to the forum. I personally do not take anything to the dealer for minor service. As long as you keep records of maintenaince I think that is sufficient.

I just worry that Chrysler will not honor the warranty if the log is not filled out by them. Thanks for the warm welcome!

They cant do that. Just imagine if a vehicle manufacturer made it mandatory that only their dealership could work on your vehicle. How horrible would that be??

As stated above, just keep all of your service records from wherever you get your maint done. If you do them yourself, just keep the reciepts from the oil/filters.

Thanks. I will save my receipts from my oil change shop. I would rather give the local guy a shot than the dealer.
