Buy a Jeep they said, It will be fun they said!

Hello from Oregon,

Well so I did, I purchased a 2000 TJ sport. I had been looking for a TJ with axles already upgraded but missed out on a couple. so I bought this 2000 TJ sport, the previous owner had described it as 2000 with a lot of newer parts like a 2006 interior and engine and trans. I drove 5 hours with a car trailer to buy the jeep if it was all he said. it appeared to be all he said, loaded it up headed home.

After getting home and driving it I realized I had some fixing to do (which was no shock I knew it was not turn key) it had serious DW like I have never felt. I felt more comfortable driving my 1938 Rat Rod at 90 MPH than this jeep at 40. found out It had worn out bushings in the control arms the tie rod ends were all bad and the track bar JJ was tore up.

All the control arms were different manufactures so I ponied up and bought some MetalCloak adjustable CA's before they showed up. I decided to see about the fuel gauge that's when I started to realize more of the jeep was a 2006 than I was told. I ended up replacing the fuel pump/sending unit.(this was the style only in 2005/06) after getting that in I left the garage and as I shifted in to 2nd gear I hear a BANG and a grinding/crazy vibration I limped it back to the garage grinding the whole way pulled the diff cover and found the carrier bolts on the driver side had backed out (the previous owner must have not torqued or used loc tite) and the carrier had shifted so that the ring and pinion were barely touching and slipping. So I ordered a R & P I came in at about the same time as the CA's.

Now back on the road (and Off-road) again. But I will say with all the vehicles I have owned, built and worked on I have had more fun fixing this one than most. keep in mind I bought this jeep in March 18th 2014.

Long story long. Buy a Jeep its fun ( I really do love it and I think I'm crazy)
