Checking in from Dallas Texas. Thanks to everyone on this Forum!!!

Thanks to all the contributors to this Forum. This is the best starting place to find information on Jeeps and Wheeling! I donít have many posts yet because the search function works so well and Iíve been able to find the answers to all my questions on past threads. Iím just now feeling comfortable enough to reply to a few.

I got hooked on this hobby when we rented a JKU for a week long family vacation to Lake City Colorado five years ago. The trails around the Lake City and Ouray are unbelievable and this past February I bought my own JK. Itís a 2015 Tank Green Sport with a manual transmission, half doors, soft top, and 3.73 gears in a front Dana 30 and rear Dana 44 with LSD. Collins Brothers, in Wylie Texas, added their custom Black Mountain 17Ē wheels with 37Ē tires, a 5Ē suspension lift, 1Ē body lift, heat reduction hood, 8000# winch, front and rear recovery bumpers, LED lights, rock bars, and steel fender flares.

I drove this set up for six months. The 3.73 gears and 37Ē tires made for sluggish street driving and a useless 6th gear on the Highway. Even more challenging was the hill climbing/rock crawling at Barnwell TX and Hot Springs AR OHV Parks especially with the manual transmission. It was a tough learning curve but I do think it really gave me an opportunity to improve my off-road driving skills.

Two weeks ago, I decided to go in for a second round of less sexy but much more functional upgrades with 4 Wheel Parts. My Jeep now has 5.13 Yukon gears, a ProRock 44 Unlimited front axle with Dynatrac HD Balljoints and HI Steer, front and rear chromoly shafts, and Eaton ELockers. I canít wait to hit the trails again to test it all out!!!

Thanks again for all your help!!! Here are a few pictures of my Tank Green JK.
