Ex-squeeze me, but Im new here
Hello from the Palouse- on Friday the 8th I drove my (new to me)1999 TJ Sport on its maiden voyage from Prosser WA- 180 miles of back highways more or less along Lewis-Clarke Trail/ Snake River towards Moscow, Idaho just north of Lewiston- home of world famous Salmon and Steelhead fishing.
Anyway, I bought this 3 legged dog on April 1st- seriously- making a beeline for "the best deal on Craglist for a Wrangler under $7000.00" with $5500 cash in-hand.
Unfortunately (and unknowingly) my mind was already made up to buy it before I actually saw it. Not the mindset to take into a negotiation for a used truck. Sheesh.
Fast forward to today- Sunday:
Get my ol '87 Nissan 4x4 going after it sat for 14 months so i can get it ready to sell to pay for a new soft top. check.
Go for a hike with my wife before lunch. check.
Spend next few hours removing 2 broken bolts from the shock mount on the Tj's missing rear shock (hence the name for the Tj being 3 legged dog). check.
Order 4 shocks and replacement steering gearbox from Rock Auto. check.
Oh ya, and decide for now to keep the '03 Jeep Liberty. Originally was going to sell it too to replace funds spent on the new Wrangler. check.
Finalize decision for personalized plates on the Tj: A P R F O O L. check.
Anyway, im glad I got the dog home safely and look forward to building er up to the expedition vehicle of my dreams.
See ya in the funny papers!
