Finally!

I've wanted a Wrangler since I was 15. I wanted one so badly that I considered buying a mail truck then (plus, that's all I could afford on my grocery store salary). Life went on, college, had kids, got divorced, real job, etc., but yesterday, I realized my 17 year dream and bought a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited X. My first failed attempt at taking the soft top off showed me that I have a lot to learn (which is why I'm here), but I can't fully express my exhiliration.

I left work at lunch and just drove around for an hour. Then took a conference call on my cell phone in the Jeep later in the afternoon. Obsessive? Maybe...but this is better than any Christmas morning I ever had. Looking forward to chatting with you guys and digging deeper into the Wrangler world.

Thanks fellas. I'm new to Wranglers and this forum, but definitely not new to forum life. At my regular posting grounds, we harass newbies unmercifully for the first 5 years, so I appreciate the warm welcome here.

I finally got the top off without breaking anything and figured out where everything is stowed. Next stop----taking the doors off.

Not knowing what I was doing, I just started unsnapping and unscrewing every fastener I could find trying to take the soft top off. By the time I made my way to the lugnuts, I knew I had to call for help.
