Finally got me a jeep

How's it going everybody? Finally made the switch from the truck world and I'm excited to start digging into the jeep! Got a 2 door 2013 JK sport and I'm stuck between getting a 2.5 or 3.5 inch lift with 35's. I've got a few kits in mind but it's just a matter of determining which is the best bang for the buck.

Hey, with what you just bought and what you want to add on it looks like mine! Except mine is a 2012, but I have a 3" lift and 35's. AND I'm in Texas.

Welcome aboard and don't forget to wave!

Exactly the look I'm going for! What lift do you have if you don't mind me asking?

3" BDS suspension lift, with Fox shocks and a couple other goodies in there. 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers and 17" XD Addict wheels.

I love my lift kit, but I know there are plenty of other nice lift kits between the 2.5-3.5" range as well.

Also, another thing to consider, straight from BDS:

"If you are the original purchaser of any BDS lift kit and it breaks, we will give you a new part. Period."

Something to think about when looking at lifts (and parts and mods in general).

Well it looks badass man! I'm looking at the aev dual sport 2.5" , rock krawler 2.5" stock mod, zone offroad 3" , rugged ridge 2.5" , trail master 3.5" , rubicon express 3.5" sport kit, metal cloak 2.5" true dual rate, pro comp 3.5" stage 1, rusty's 3.25".

I'm just looking for something that is good quality but isn't going to cost an arm and a leg and have me replacing parts frequently

I can't say for sure what the best or worst lifts are, but from that list, in my experience I have heard the procomp lifts leave a little to be desired and their shocks are super stiff (can't say for sure since I have never had one), and I believe zone is basically a subset of BDS, their lifts are pretty close to the same except a little cheaper (and no lifetime warranty). I hear lots of good things about Rock Krawler, Rugged Ridge, Rubicon Express, and Metal Cloak.

But don't necessarily take my word on anything; do a little research and figure out what makes sense for you.

Good luck!

One last question, would I need new control arms or I would be fine with the adjustable track bars/relocation brackets? I've been told both and I guess it depends on intended use. It's a daily driver that would see the occasional desert trail and sand dunes.
