Finally have a Jeep - from Colorado

Hi, all,
I'm a newbie owner from Colorado. My wife and I went Jeeping with friends, rented a few times, and finally decided we just needed to get one. We're not into extreme crawling, but like to go on rough trails and rocky creeks up in the mountains. I know that the Rubi axles aren't a good as aftermarket, but we're hoping it will let us do the type of exploring we enjoy.

It's not the 'real thing;' it's an Unlimited 2008 JK Rubi with a 3" OME, 33" Goodyear Wranglers (pretty nice, but I'll be upping to 35's once I wear these out - came with the rig). Soft and hard tops too - already switched between them a few times.

I have a good friend who is a fabulous mechanic for Jeeps. I'm partly wanting to dive into the forum community so i can learn what work I should be ready/able to do when I'm on my own off-road. I don't want to be stuck with no way to get back. I watched a group out on a trail in Ouray bandaid a broken ball joint with a seat belt, which got the guy all the way back down the pass. I don't know if I could do that, but I at least understand the procedure.
