Hello all...have a question already!

Hey everyone,
New to the Jeep world and have been waiting years to join the ranks. Recently purchased a 2012 Unlimited Rubicon. This jeep happened to have Yakima rails with the landing pads already installed but I will need to purchase the Yakima Towers and bars to get an actual rack up and running. My question is I cannot find anywhere the load bearing amount for the hardtop. I want to be able to carry my tandem ocean kayak. Is this something I should invest in or should I purchase a rain gutter system?

Thanks so much!

Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

To answer your question.. 0#.... AFAIK the factory hard top is not designed to carry any load at all. People do it without any problems though.

welcome to the forum.
