You aren't the first person to ask this question but because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out these areas:

https://www.wranglerforum.com/f19/har...ft-208028.html

(Personally I wouldn't run anything but a soft top on a Jeep )

In the mean time . . .

Woot -- here's to the Geckos!! I got the premium soft top because I don't have a garage in which to store the hard top. Plus I just came from a convertible so am used to a soft top. Have been in some driving rain/snow so far and the insulation is perfect.

I always have my chihuahua with me -- no fears of her busting through a top

Depends on how your winters are and if you plan on driving it in the snow. Here I am glad to have both tops as we go from -20 all the way to 105 or so. So I couldn't live without my soft top for the summer. All personal preference but if you only had the choice of one, go with the soft top its a lot more versatile and a must to have the option to go topless whenever. Happy Jeepin.

Thanks! I decided to buy with the hard top and invest in a soft top as an accessory. Figured it'd be cheaper than other way around. I get snow and lots of rain sometimes in the summer in VA. Thanks for your advice!
