MY name is Eric and I'm in Dallas, TX (Flower Mound for you locals)
Just purchased my first Jeep. It's a beginning of a lot of firsts for me.
My first 4wd vehicle and the first I've had that is lifted. My last couple of cars have been stock, but I'm experienced in lowered/airbagged cars and trucks.
I just bought the jeep yesterday and am having a ball with it.
I THINK it has a 4" lift, but I'm not sure. 35" tires (34.6, but do you guys call that 35??) Tire size is 315/75r16.
Anyway. It's a 2009 Rubicon Unlimited. 6 speed transmission. Pictures will probably tell the rest. It appears this thing was traded into a dealer in Temple, TX so maybe the previous owner is on here???
I'd LOVE if anyone could tell me what kind/size of lift I have.
Being a complete noob to off-roading, I'd like to find some easy dirt trails in the local area. My quick research tells me there aren't any but you never know. My wife thinks the only off-roading I'll ever do is if I accidentally drive over the edge of our driveway into the grass.
Here's a few pics and a link to the full photobucket album. I've got some suspension pics in there that may help figure out what I've got.
-It looks like that isn't the original hard top. It has a rear wiper but no switch on the dash and no plug in the trunk. Thoughts?
- Any idea what the "airplane" lap belts are for? I'm guessing they're good when wheeling and you wanna lean out to look under the tires, etc. But wouldn't the "dinging" of the seatbelt reminder drive one crazy??? Can that be disabled temporarily? (I know the safety factor behind that...I'm not looking to do it on a permanent or regular basis)
