Hello WF!
I've ended up here more than a few times as I Googled Jeepish things over the past few weeks and now I figured would be a good time to join. I was shopping for a Jeep as a guy who's mostly owned 90s Hondas and then 2 Chevy trucks (both trucks from my father-in-law).
But, just a couple days ago I finally found my Jeep! A lil high-mileage (147k) but it's in great shape. It's a silver '07 JK Sahara, factory 4.10 gears, factory rear LSD, 6-speed, 3-piece top,
Now, all this awesomeness comes with just a little bit of concern. The engine was replaced at 85k; there's record of it. The dealer also said the person who traded it in mentioned getting a new clutch recently. Where I'm hoping I didn't screw the pooch is, I bought the thing - pretty sure it needs a new throw-out bearing. There's a real light rattle when I start to put it in 1st. I don't want to be gauche, but for the price I ended up paying I'll be totally fine bringing it to a shop for a new clutch, TOB and everything else that goes with it and it'd still be deal of the century. Nothing bad on the carfax, it was a trade-in so I'm hoping the dealer just stole it.
Other than that, it's an awesome Jeep and it runs great. My wife and I go up to Drummond Island every year and I think this is going to make it a lot more fun.
Any advice on any of the above would be welcome. Also, if by any chance you're in West MI, I need to find a great shop to start bringing this to. I found one shop that looks promising but if anyone has experience anywhere in West MI, I'll look into that.
To wrap it all up, stoked on my JK and thanks in advance for everything I'll get out of the forum!
