hello - some q's before i buy

hey guys, i hope i don't get flamed for posting in a jeep forum before i actually own a jeep, but hopefully that will change soon. since i don't have a jeep yet i can't post any pictures of it, but when i eventually do i'll post them up.

my main overall question is - are there any major differences between the 2000-2002 wranglers?

i've been trying to do some google searches to find out what has changed from year to year but it's proven to be more diifficult than expected. i'm a motorcycle/sports car guy, so venturing into the world of 4x4 is a bit daunting... all sorts of new terminology to learn about, etc, but i'll get it.

long term goal (few years) is to swap in either a LSx engine or a diesel engine, so if there's some equipment that comes standard on these jeeps that could handle that kind of power in its stock form (without too much abuse) then it would make sense to look for that to begin with. i'm in the process of swapping an LS1 into a 72 vette so i'm learning how that one goes, but if i go in the direction of diesel then i'll be waaay out of my element.

anyway, here i am... hopefully i'm here to stay. thanks in advance for any feedback.

Welcome to the forum! I had an '01 with a 2.5L and 5 speed. Really loved it. Can't tell you what the differences were between the years, but I can say it was a great vehicle. Sold it for an '04 Unlimited. Again, welcome!
