Lightbulb Hello to All

Hi, wanted to introduce myself to the Jeep community. I've just became a new owner of an 83 Wrangler inline v6, 4spd can wait to get to work on her. My first ever I have no knowledge or mechanical idea of the Jeep system for I'm a VW heads for years, so I'm looking for all the help, support and critic that will come my way. Again hello from NYC

Thanks as this is my first CJ5 I think that's my year series (please correct me if I'm wrong). This Jeep has been park for sometime without being started. Battery is dead, master cylinder is missing to list a few things. Beside the basic of changing the oil, coolant, breaks and cleaning out the cab. What else should I look for

Rust I could live with. I want her to remain with her characters and looks, that is one of the reason why I got her bc she represent America power of strong build and I'm 40 and still going strong. So will she every day during the summer months in NY. Thanks I will post pic once I clean it out this weekend since the last owner was using it as the storage depot.

Welcome to the forum. If your engine is a V6 then it is not an inline. Just wanted to clarify that for you.

I'm learning the lingo as I go please bear with me. Thanks to all that has responded and check in. I will keep you all posted the moment she come home, with before shot and after the cleaning has taking place.
So far most of my rust seems to be at the rear passenger side of the removal top section of the jeep. Full inspection of the jeep will be Saturday. Again thanks for the greetings.

Hello to all. I was totally wrong about my Jeep. I thought it was a CJ5 base on the year and other things, yesterday I spent the day with the Jeep cleaning it up since the last owner used it as storage and a few other things.

So I was cleaning the hell out of this Jeep. Its a CJ7, now I'm clear so is everyone else. The color is cooper brown, the rust are much around certain body area's I could live with for now. There are section I'm going to remove and replace with alternative parts.
I'm excited to get started with this small project.

Big question: My intent is to keep this on the road. What tire size I could go with that will give the wide stand look on 15" rim?

Pic. soon to come
