Hi everyone - 7 year owner - need tire help

OK - I have stock 255/75/17. My condo garage can take one more inch of height comfortably and I’d like 1” wider. Can I do that without washers and other minor mods? What tire size should I get? Thanks - I went to the calculator site, but I’m slow at this! Thx for any help!

A lot of that depends on what model Wrangler you have. Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I'm guessing you have a JK model Wrangler so suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

25.4mm per inch. 255mm wide are your tires. 255/25.4= 10".

So add 25 to the width, 255+25= 280, to get an extra inch in width. Tires come in 285 or 275, so +/- on that. That puts you at 11" wide.

Height, current: (255*0.75*2)/25.4+17= 32"

Height of 285/70-17: (285*0.70*2)/25.4+17= 32.7"

Height of 285/75-17: (285*0.75*2)/25.4+17= 33.8" (too much?)

Height of 275/75-17: (275*0.75*2)/25.4+17= 33.2"

Or, when looking at tires sized in inches, you have a 32x10x17 (nominally). So a 33x10.5x17 or 33x12.5x17 would be options (if 33x exist in a 17" rim, not sure). But at 12.5" wide, you'd need to consider some things, as mentioned in reply #1. You're probably ok going from 32 to 33 in. tall, but more details needed (lift, bump stops, fenders).
